Benefits of Using Feminized Hemp Seeds.
In the last few years, CBD and CBD products have increasingly become popular. This is because CBD oil has been found to offer a wide range of health benefits. CBD from hemp is, however, more popular since it does not contain THC unlike CBD derived from marijuana. This has led more people to focus on hemp cultivation for the production of CBD. However, there is a need to plant the right hemp seeds.
In agriculture, farmers have been using the feminized seed for many years to boost their yields. Feminized seeds are used in hemp cultivation. Feminized hemp seeds are designed to give the farmer female hemp plants only. This results in faster growth of the plants while flowering occurs faster as well, giving more CBD yields. When you plant hemp seeds, however, the outcome will largely depend on the seeds you use.
What makes it important to plant feminized hemp CBD? Planting feminized seeds would come with several benefits. Some of the benefits will include the following.
1. Reduced wastage.
It’s normally 50/50 that you will get a male and female when you plant hemp seeds. Therefore, about half of your mature plants will be males and the other half will be females. However, the male plants are exclusively for pollination rather than CBD content. Therefore, they will offer nothing during harvest. As a result, you will have wasted your water, space, time, and money when you cultivate female plants together with the male hemp plants.
By planting feminized seeds, therefore, such wastage would be avoided. This is because you will have a guarantee of high yield CBD production. Therefore, your space, water, time, and money will not be wasted.
2. Your work will be much easier.
In case you grow bot female and male hemp plants together, you will have to eliminate all the males at some point. Trying to identify the gender of every plant will be a difficult and time-consuming task. You would also be risking having the females pollinated in case some male plants are left to mature.
Once a female hemp plant gets pollinated, about 50% of its mass could be lost. This would also diminish the flower set, as well as its CBD concentration. As a result, you reduce your profit margin. By planting the feminized seeds, you will not have the task of removing the male plants.
3. Better utilization of resources.
Since feminized seeds will greatly reduce your work, you will also use your resources better. Male plants will just result in wastage of water, time, and your fertilizers. When you plant female-only hemp plants, your resources will be directed on the best use instead.
